How do we work?

Frank and donationsAll our work is carried out by volunteers.

We accept donations of non-perishable foods and toiletries (What can I donate?) from groups and individuals. Donations are collected regularly from local donation points (Where can I donate?) and many churches, schools and community groups. We also accept monetary donations.

The donated goods are date-checked and sorted by our volunteers at our two stores – one at Bridge Methodist Church in Radcliffe and the other at a warehouse in Bradley Fold.

We make up “crisis packs” in either boxes or large carrier bags. These are intended to give short term help to individuals or families in urgent need.

We do not give out packs directly to individuals, but work through many agencies working in the Bury area. They order packs and we deliver to the agency. Currently we deliver about 450 packs every month.

Through our partner agencies we support lone parents, children, families with children, young people and others who are homeless, people with illnesses, addictions and disabilities, those sleeping rough and prisoners’ families.
